Parents

A successful Montessori experience depends on the relationship between each child, teacher and parent. At the Rancho Viejo Montessori School, parents are encouraged to talk with teachers either face-to-face at parent/teacher conferences or through e-mail. In addition, the school works to help parents understand the Montessori Method and school practices through Parent Information Nights, e-mails, Tomorrow’s Child magazine, and classroom Open Houses. Please check Miss Debbie’s Tuesday Memo and the calendars on this website for important information, watch for e-mails, and check your family folder on a regular basis.

Three things all parents can do:

Be Informed. Attend parent/teacher conferences and all classroom meetings. Attend Parent Information programs, open houses, and Rancho Viejo Parent Association meetings. Develop a deep understanding of the Montessori Method and how it helps children reach their full potential.

Be Involved. Volunteer on field trips and at school events. Talk with teachers and Room Parents for classroom opportunities.

Be Invested. Give to the Annual Fund, sign up for escrip, collect Box Tops, and participate in fundraisers.

Faculty Meetings
A well-prepared, highly qualified staff requires time for planning and organizing. Our monthly staff meetings are held the first Wednesday of each month at 5:00 PM. Therefore, plan to pick up your students from the Sunset Club no later than 4:55 PM as the school will close at 5:00 PM. The $1 per minute overtime fee will apply to students remaining on campus after 5:00 PM.

RVPA
The Rancho Viejo Parent Association meets the second Wednesday of every month at 5:00 PM. All are invited and child care is provided. This is a great way to be involved, meet other parents, and help plan our fundraising activities and our Annual Dinner.

Traffic & Parking
Vehicles entering and leaving the school driveway must proceed past our school from left to right. Enter at the center of our complex at Santa Nella and exit on the West end. Parking is in front of our building only. During heavy traffic periods, please look for and obey Miss Debbie's traffic directions. By keeping one-way traffic from left to right we can accomplish two things: #1 – we keep the children safe. Always keep your children by your side and never allow them to run ahead of you in the parking lot. #2 – we avoid fender benders.
